Accommodation is at the stunning Ancora del Chianti, a traditional hilltop farm immersed in olive groves and vineyards, lovingly restored by Laura and Fillipo to offer us the perfect painting retreat. Each bedroom has a private spot outside with table and chairs and direct access to the panoramic garden with spectacular views over the Valley of Greve in Chianti (south side) and Florence hills (north side) where you can freely explore and find your own favourite place. The garden offers shaded areas, a grassy lawn as well as a solarium with deck chairs to make the most of your relaxing holiday in Tuscany in a pristine natural setting with stunning views while sketching, reading, napping, dining, enjoying a glass of wine at sunset!
The typical workshop day could begin with the simple delight of a quiet morning stroll before enjoying a varied and abundant breakfast in the pleasant and relaxed company of other guests on the terrace.
Later the group will meet in the studio for a presentation of the day’s art program, to begin the morning painting session.
At a time that suits your painting schedule, you will help yourself to lunch with fresh local produce and the afternoon session will continue when you are ready. Painting in the vicinity of our accommodation will permit you to go at your own pace, resting whenever you choose and working for long periods when you feel inspired.
At sunset, the garden offers a moment to relax before a typical traditional Tuscan dinner will be served in the evening, after which the stars will light the way to your room where a comfortable bed and an undisturbed sleep complete a day of discovery and creativity, accompanied by the gentle sound of crickets.
Mid-week we’ll take a free day when you may choose to explore the local village, use local transport to go further afield or take a walk into the hills.

Transfers to and from airport - It may be possible to arrange to be collected/dropped off at Florence airport by Vicki or Mark during the day on 5th and 12th Sept (please let us know your flight times and we’ll do our best) but costs of transfers for early/late arrivals/departures must be borne by guests. Florence airport is 1 hour by taxi from Ancora del Chianti.
Transport on day off - guests may use buses, trains or taxi to explore the region.
Painting equipment and materials. Guests should bring their own equipment and supplies.
