This workshop has a particular focus on capturing likeness by representing the head as a 3-Dimensional form.
We will explore a variety of dry media, using pencil, vine charcoal and pastels to record what we see as we learn to recognise the shapes within the head and face. Working in more detail we will investigate the form of the individual features and how they vary from one person to another: this is the key to capturing an accurate likeness.
No prior portraiture experience is necessary although attendance of ‘Portraits 1’ course would be advantageous. Basic drawing skills are required.
