A Brush with the Broads
Better late than never! Here are my paintings from Norfolk's plein air painting festival 'A Brush with the Broads' last month. We were blessed with great weather, beautiful locations and lovely people - perfect for 4 days of painting bliss...
I'm delighted that this painting won the Boathouse Prize and was sold during the exhibition. I just loved the colours of the sky reflected in the water so I decided a simple study would be best.
A study of the sparkling sunlight on the clouds and water at Hickling Broad.
A view of Horsey Windpump from across the field, I couldn’t resist an attempt at some ‘Seago trees’ given that I was in the heart of his territory!
Driving back to Clippesby Hall after a day of painting I just had to stop for one more study of that gorgeous soft harvest gold!
My entry for the Norwich Quick Draw, a 2 hour timed paint out . I chose this view of an old street with little shops because I especially liked the turquoise shop on the right.
